I-LEAD®

(Institute for Leadership Education and Development)

I-LEAD® is an intense, six-day, living-learning program that is regularly described as “life-changing” by participants. Emphasizing personal growth and skill development through engaging activities and community building, I-LEAD® prepares students to become su ccessful leaders in any position or situation.

I-LEAD® offers an opportunity for tomorrow's leaders to focus on personal growth and pertinent issues facing our world. The institute maximizes the potential of the student-staff partnership model by creating educational student-student and student-professional interactions. A diversity of thought, skills, ideas, interests, and perspectives is imperative to creating an environment conducive to intellectual and personal challenge-based education.

Each year, ACUI Region 10 offers the Jean Kendall I-LEAD® award to two undergraduate or graduate students from the Region interested in the 6-day, experienced-based learning program. This is a high-intensity program of personal growth addressing leadership, ethics, participatory decision making, understanding differences, goal setting and lifelong/self directed learning.

Funding for the grants is acquired through proceeds from the Silent Auction at the annual Region 10 conference. The regional grant covers the registration fee (including the cost of meals, snacks, lodging, materials and program activities). Participants are responsible for travel expenses and any meals while traveling to and from I-LEAD® in Bloomington, IN. Apply for the Region 10 Jean Kendall I-LEAD® Award.

Thanks to generous contributions of delegates at the 2009 annual conference, the ACUI Education and Research Fund is pleased to announce that it is awarding two scholarships to the Institute for Leadership Education and Development (I-LEAD®) in 2009.

One scholarship will be awarded to each of the two I-LEAD® sessions in 2009.

For additional information about the scholarships, visit the ACUI Education and Research Fund online headquarters. The deadline to apply for the first award is May 15.
